How lessons work

[Draft] From first beat to full kit

[Draft] Every student follows the same path, at their own pace.

  1. Step 1: Book your first lesson

Pick a time that suits you.

[Draft] Choose a lesson length and a time online. Studio or mobile, it's your call.

  2. Step 2: Find your starting point

    We hear where you're at.

[Draft] In the first lesson we work out where you're starting from, what music you love and what you want to play.

  3. Step 3: Build the foundations

    Grip, posture, timing.

[Draft] Grip, posture, counting and playing in time. The basics that make everything else easier.

  4. Step 4: Play the songs you love

    Real music, early.

[Draft] Grooves and fills from real songs, so practice never feels like homework.

  5. Step 5: Level up

    Independence, reading, styles.

[Draft] Coordination between all four limbs, reading drum notation and new styles, from rock to funk to jazz.

  6. Step 6: Play with confidence

On stage, in a band, at home.

[Draft] Whether the goal is a school band, a first gig or just jamming at home, you get there with a plan. [Awaiting: exams, recitals or band programmes offered?]

Questions

[Draft] Before your first lesson

How old do you need to be to start?

[Awaiting the minimum starting age.]

Do I need my own drum kit?

[Draft] Not to start. Studio lessons are on the studio's kit. For practice at home, a practice pad and sticks are a good first step. [Awaiting: what the studio recommends before a first kit.]

Do you come to us?

[Draft] Yes. Mobile lessons are available around the Gold Coast. [Awaiting the suburbs or distance covered, and whether a kit is needed at home.]

How long is a lesson?
